Ride my bike!

We have now a full lenght preview of Buono!’s forthcoming single Renai Rider. Last time I was as excited as now it was when I first time saw C-ute’s Tokaikko Junjou PV’s preview.

Some quick notes now on Renai Rider PV. First of all the song is super catchy pure pop hit with Puffy like rock flavor. I’m already totally addicted to this song. I think Renai Rider is going to be my theme song for this spring. If I’m sometimes down I know now what helps me brighten my day.

Wow, what a PV they have done! I’s sweet as candy. Colorful background animations are very 60′s style but that’s only one part of this PV’s power. Buono! girls are racing throught the video like Puffy did some years ago. Airi & Miya have super mini motorbikes and Momo has only tricycle but finally Momo wins her competitors. Heh he, I’ve always known that Momo has strong legs. Close the end of this PV girls are doing that famous James Bond movement, shooting us with their hands. I like it.

Costumes then? Yes, again cool & sexy outfits on Buono! girls. Miya for example has black leather biker jacket and black mini skirt. All girls are wearing trendy sunglasses and knee-length socks. And of course they have also those studded punk gear belts. They look just great!

Buono!’s Renai Rider single is out on February 6th.

Here is the whole serie of captures from which I took our new header image. I’ve seen this back stage clip many times but I don’t remember when it was shot. Do you?

Berryz Kobo’s back stage & member’s cam shots are always fun to watch. In those takes girls are more relaxed and natural than in TV shows and other official situations.

Berryz Singles – 13th

In Very Beauty’s first verse Risako sings: “Ah, why is my face like this? / It’d be nice if by the time I wake up tomorrow morning / I became beautiful.”

Come on Risako! I know that you know that you are already beautiful. No need to be worried about your looks any more. If you are not beautiful then why I have all two of your photo books in my shelf? And let me say that your hair is done nicely and you wear cool outfit in Very Beauty PV. You really shine there.

Very Beauty is another Berryz Kobo song about growing up to be a woman. This single was released on March 7th 2007 with Miyabi, Risako and Yurina on leads. It’s a ballad type song and I guess it’s needless to say that I love it. Song has kind of dreamy atmosphere. Girls sing softly and if there had been string quartet playing in song’s beginning, bridge and ending parts instead of plain sampled synth then it would have been the ultimate ballad. Now it’s only great song.

Video of this song was shot partly in the church like hall and partly outside that building. Berryz girls dancing in the church?! Yep, interior there looks much like church with arched ceiling, stained glass windows and large organ pipes. But is it really a church? Not so sure about that.

Anyway, as they are doing ballad their dancing is also less energetic. I still wonder are those hand movements girls are doing intentionally out of synch. Sounds strange? And looks even more weird. They are doing that un-synch thing also in every live performance of this song. Should be asked from choreographer if that’s meant to be danced that way.

This is one of the best captures I made from Very Beauty’s video single. Miya looks so easy and natural there.

My Berryz Kobo Limited Edition blog had Risako of the day category but now I changed it to BK Photo of the Week. First entry for this new category is a scan from a booklet that came with Berryz’s limited edition CD single Very Beauty.

There is no other way to start this new category than make a Miyabi post. <3

Berryz Art – 2008

Berryz Kobo girls have been drawing about things they are aiming to achieve during this new year.

Momo’s picture has egg and two chickens. It leaves me wondering what she means with that. I’m not even trying to guess her aim. There is one more chicken hatching out of that egg. What? Maybe Momo is just wishing all the best for this fresh new year.

Momoko's drawing

Miyabi’s drawing is much easier to understand than Momo’s one. I think Miya wants to improve her snowboarding skills. I’m hoping that someday we could go snowboarding together. Dream on!

Then there is Chinami’s picture. Chi’s hair has recently been short and I guess she wants now to grow it again longer. Short or long, she is always lovely.

Risako’s secret is also mine

Can you believe this? Risako and I have something in common. Risako herself thinks it’s a little bit shameful thing she has or at least she tries to make them longer than they actually are. Me, I don’t care so much about them. To be exact, I don’t mind mine but I love Risako’s much. That can only lead to a conclusion that “if you love them, you must also love her who has them”.

The thing is that we both are born with short and partly thin eyebrows. No big deal for a man but might be quite embarrassing thing to a woman. As Risako has grown up she has learnt to get along with her shorties. With a little help of black eyebrow pencil she can draw the shapes of her eyebrows as she wants them to be. I think she uses also eyebrow plucker to make lines more solid and curved than they naturally are.

Nowadays Risako can laugh and joke about her short eyebrows. One of the funniest moments in Berryz Kobo’s videorecorded history is Miyabi’s and Risako’s chatting minute in Risako’s version of Berryz DVD MAGAZINE 8. Miya browses pages of Berryz’s first album booklet and shows then Risako’s photo and tells that Risako had very short eyebrows at that time. Risako bursts into laughter and denies that. They both are showing with their fingers how long or short Risako’s eyebrows in fact are. Risako is almost falling off her chair so fun they have. Every time I watch that part of the DVD I can’t help but laugh with that crazy couple.

My eyebrows? They are too pale and short but I’ve never used pencil or anything else to make them look thicker or darker. I also get along with my shorties.

Early photos and shots where Risako does not wear make-up reveals the real essence of her eyebrows.

During her idol career Risako has tried many different eyebrow styles. Sometimes succeeding and sometimes not getting those lines so well.

And then some captures from that hilarious chatting.
