Do you remember Berryz Kobo’s last years enjoyable visit to Enoshima Aquarium? It was documented in BK DVD Magazine Vol. 12. and reviewed also here in B.K.I. blog. You can find many clips from that DVD @ YouTube.

Now Chinami had an idea to draw something about Aquarium. Actually she is so excited about Aquariums that she wants to visit this year as many Aquariums as possible. There in her drawing you can see Chii with lot of sea animals.

This other picture is from Yurina and also she was inspired by Aquarium theme. Mother penguin with her children. LOL! Even penguins wear bows!

Timemachine – Live shots from 2004-2006

I picked up here some Berryz Kobo concert pictures which covers the first three years of group’s career.

This first photo is of course from BK’s debut year. Tartan skirts look awesome and I think girls were performing their first single “Anata Nashi de wa Ikite Yukenai” here.

It looks like BK were doing a special Christmas event in this snapshot. I think this was also taken in 2004 by a BK fan. Look Momo, almost like Buono! style costume she had back then.

And here we have a photo from the time they had released “Special Generation”. So that was year 2005. I think they are performing “Piriri to Yukou!” in this photo.

“21ji made no Cinderella” outfits of course on BK girls so we are still in the year 2005. Do I see Converse sneakers!?

And here lastly our wonderful girls doing “Jiriri Kiteru” in the ending mini concert event of Hello! Project Sports Festival 2006. It’s a pity that H!P has not had these Festivals any more. This was the last one and it took place at Saitama Super Arena.

What is this?

If you know your katakanas then you know what this is all about. If you can’t read then you can always throw a wild guess. Capture taken from Co·No·Mi·Chi limited edition’s extra DVD.

Zush’s Berryz Total Collection

Now when Berryz Kobo released their Special Best Vol.1 album it’s time for me to compile my alternative Zush’s Berryz Total Collection.

Although I’ve been thinking of making this list for a very long time it was MorningBerryz who gave me the final boost to really start doing it. You can find her own BK favorite songs list @ MorningBerryz’s blog.

My compilation has 23 songs and what’s remarkable is that top three of these songs are from the first years of Berryz Kobo. I’ve been a BK fan almost from group’s beginning so I think it’s not surprising that there is many BK oldies on my list.

So, here we go . . .

1.
Special Generation
Original title:  スッペシャル ジェネレ~ション
(6. single)
Released: March 30. 2005
Check the video

Special Generation is the song (and the PV) which made me a BK fan right after it was released. And it’s still the ultimate BK song for me.

Special Generation is kind of Youth Anthem. A fast and super catchy song. PV’s studio set is simple but effective. Loving song’s dance choreography very much.

2.
Anata Nashi de wa Ikite Yukenai

Original title: あなたなしでは生きてゆけない
(1. single)
Released: March 3. 2004
Check the video

“Can’t live without you” is the rough translation of this BK’s debut single’s main song. Another BK oldie that’s still going strong. Perfect dance beat and cool stage set.

In my view those costumes girls are wearing in dance scenes are one of the coolest ones BK has had in their PVs.

When Berries were filming this PV in Saitama Super Arena little they knew that their return to this colossal concert hall in spring 2007 was going to be their careers greatest success so far.

3.
Semi

(from “1st Chou Berryz”)

Sweet, ballad type and a little bit melancholic song where all BK girls have their lines.

This is the song that makes me always feel so sentimental and even romantic. Story about missing someone special.

Berryz Art – Momo growing up

This time we have two drawings from Princess Momoko. Both these pictures are dealing with the maturing theme. In first drawing Momo imagines how she is going to change when she is getting older. Maybe there is something new with her hairdo and also in overall style. The second art work is about Coming-of-age ceremony. As you might know, in Japan they had Coming-of-age day, Seijin no Hi, last week (Jan 12). It’s always in the second monday of January.

Yurina – That Gentle Giant

This is not unusual. This happens for me every now and then. With Yurina it just took quite a long time to realize how sweet girl she really is.

I’ve always loved Yurina’s deep sexy hoarse voice. But now I must confess that it’s the wholeness of Yurina that made her enter first time to my Hello! Project Girls Top 10 list. Now 4 out of 10 girls on my list are from Berryz Kobo. But where is Momo? I know she should be there but there just isn’t enough room for her at the moment. I guess she is “bubbling under” at 11th place.

1. Miya – The most lovely girl on earth. Getting prettier every day.
2. Rii – Still my number two girl. Always entertaining.
3. Reina – Always kakkoii rockin’ chick.
4. Erina – Jumping one step higher on my list. Simply captivating girl.
5. Chii – “Shows me that tempting smile again.”
6. Koha – I got me Koha’s first photo book. So it goes!
7. Yurina – Newcomer on my list! I can’t resist her sweetness any more. And she is even exactly same height as I am.
8. Chisato – True personality!
9. KonKon – Old love just don’t fade away.
10. Maimi – She comes and she goes. Now came dancing back to my list.
