You can’t go wrong with recognizing Kumai-chan’s voice from the crowd of voices. Her’s is lower than others. There is a bit of sexy hoarseness in her purring voice. The downside with this kind of voice is that Yurina’s singing is quite a struggle all the time. Her register is quite limited and that’s why she gets so few lines in BK’s songs.
You can say that voice is an issue here but it’s only Kumai-chan’s singing voice. When she talks and laughs it’s completely different thing. Her voice caresses my ears gently. And as an entertainer she sure belong to the first class Berries.

My first B-day countdown post for Yurina was about her H!P Kids audition which happened over 7 years ago. Kumai-chan’s second photo book was released one and a half week ago so let’s see how’s her looks today. Who said “Not bad”? I think I heard also some loud shouts like “Wow!!” I myself would like to say that Kumai-chan looks quite majestical… what ever it means.

It’s almost hard to believe that Yurina Kumai is still only 15 years old as she is the tallest Berryz Kobo member. Well, the tallest of all Hello! Project members! Also she looks so mature when you compare her character to all other BK members. Amazing truth is that only Risako Sugaya is younger that she.
When Kumai-chan attend to Hello! Project Kids auditions in spring 2002 she was only eight years old. Her audition song was Tanpopo’s Koi wo Shichaimashita!

By the way, did you knew that Rii was born in Zushi, a city located in Kanagawa prefecture? And did you knew that my name has been Zush very long time before Berryz Kobo? Is that only coincidence? Or is there something deeper meaning in it?

Dohhh UP! streaming video site has now a preview from Berryz Kobo’s DVD “Concert Tour Spring 2009 Haru ~ Sono Subete no Ai ni ~” which is going to be released on July 29. The clip is “Sono Subete no Ai ni”, the last song of the whole concert. Sweet ballad which makes Rii and Saki cry as they try to struggle to the end of this encore. Aww! Lovely.
