Base Ball Kuma! Yes indeed. Still I think that Kumai-chan’s starring role in Base Ball Bear’s CM last autumn is one of the coolest things she has ever done. At least from all those public things she has been doing as an idol.
You are asking what makes these 30 seconds so amazing?! Well, the key words are “different”, “surprising”, “beautiful”, “horror”, “bloody” and “artistic”. It sure was a great surprise to see Yurina doing this completely different kind of thing compared to all videos and stuff she has been doing as a Hello! Project member. This CM is not H!P, this is ROCK. And top of all Kumai-chan loves the music Base Ball Bear is making. As do I.

As CM’s colors are quite pale I edited some screencaptures with PhotoShop. I used two different custom actions and layer technique. Outcome: Much deeper “bloody” colors.

It’s interesting and many times also frustrating to watch how the policy of publishing photobooks is implemented in Hello! Project. Some girls seems to have new book out regularly while there are those who have been left outside from that regularity. Worst case is Captain who is still waiting for her debut photobook. And what about Miya then? Only one book from her so far. Yurina is there in-between with two books.
Thank god we have a couple of top quality idol magazines & mooks which are not afraid to publish photos even from those “least favorite” H!P girls such as Captain, Miya, Maasa and Yurina. Just read that “least favorite” with sarcastic tone.
BLT magazine is a fine example of high quality publication. U17 is BLT’s quarterly published photo mook and year ago Yurina was in it’s summer volume. Actually it was double feature with Chisato but here I posted only pages with Kumai-chan.

On Berryz Kobo DVD MAGAZINE vol.15 girls were playing “Photographers and models”. Every girl had chance to be a model while two other girls had a task to shoot most dazzling photos of their models. So besides the model herself these photo shooting teams had a photographer and her assistant. There are many hilarious moments on this DVD and as we have now Yurina’s B-day countdown I’ve chosen here Kumai-chan’s modelling part from it.
Heh he, Momo is trying to be so pro photographer that she makes me almost die. And her assistant Miya seems to be all over the studio. Some of these snaps were later published as Up-Front International official collector’s photo sets.

On 3rd of August Yurina Kumai is celebrating her 17th Birthday. It’s about time to get her countdown started.
The most conspicious thing about Kumai-chan is her tallness. I think she is still the tallest member in Hello! Projcet. Most recent reliable information about Yurina’a height is from May 29. 2008. On that day Yurina herself said in Berryz Kobo’s fan club event that she’s 176 cm tall.
176 cm means that she is at same height as I am. As this last information is over two years old we can’t be quite sure has Kumai-chan gained some more centimetres since that. Or is her growth in height finally sopped? In other words: Is she now even taller than me?

As the premiere of “Light Novel no Tanoshii Kakikata” is getting closer we can also expect increasing promotion activities around this movie starring no one else than our Maasa. This is a movie adaption of light novel series written by Toru Honda.
Today they launched a “Light Novel no Tanoshii Kakikata” blog. In this first entry there are two photos from the fisrt day they started shooting the movie. Maasa is there getting her lines ready for the shot.
“Light Novel no Tanoshii Kakikata” centers on Yakumo Atae, a first-year student who knows the hidden secret of his fearsome classmate Tsurugi Yabusame (Maasa). While Tsurugi is the school’s strongest girl, she is also a budding light novel author under the penname Mio Himemiya. Tsurugi is stuck in a huge slump while writing her new romantic comedy. Yakumo’s cousin Kokona Atae happens to be Tsurugi’s editor, and Kokona suggests that Yakumo and Tsurugi become a couple so that Tsurugi can know the experience of romance.
We have now also movie’s first trailer out. As you check it out I’m sure you are looking forward to see the whole film when it finally comes out as a DVD release. But first there is coming a premiere in Japan on December 4th 2010. If you are in Japan at that time be sure to see this movie.
