I think this question is quite relevant: Should we be worried about these cheaply done promotional videos Berryz Kobo tend to be doing recently. When you last time saw a Berryz PV which had a real manuscript, a decent setup, cool costumes on everyone and after seeing the video out from your mouth came a loud “Wow!”?

Let’s take a close example. Every time when a new Buono! PV comes out I’m always more or less excited about it. And almost every time there is a little “story” in it which makes it more interesting to watch. I’m not asking much. Nice story can be for example as simple as girls acting auto mechanics on “Zassou no Uta” video. Then there is of course this ultimate Buono! story telling video called “MY BOY”. The PV has the continuous storyline which brings us from the beginning to the happy ending. Last time we had any kind of storyline in BK’s PV was one year ago when girls were singing about friendship on “Tomodachi wa Tomodachi Nanda!”
Do you still remember that funny BK PV where girls were dressed as school boys and were in love with their bus guide? Sure Berryz Kobo has done many videos with nice stories during their seven years in the business but I certainly would like to see this group doing more stories and leaving those “all singing all dancing” parts to the Dance version video clips. Don’t get me wrong. I’m not saying there should not be dance shots on main PVs. I’m saying there should be more than just dance shots on videos.
I’m not even asking Up-Front International to do such a big budget PVs as AKB48′s “River” for example is, I’m just hoping that script writers, directors and such people who are in charge in Tsunku’s Dynasty could be more creative and could have the vision and the courage to do things differently than before. Because, and now I’m very serious, you can’t cling too much to old habits and routines because the world around us is changing all the time. Creativity is not necessarily a big budget thing, nor is courage.
What bugs me the most on this “Heroine ni Narou ka!” video is exactly that lack of creativity. Even I could do more interesting script and setup for this video than the ones which are used on it. Up-Front International, hire me and I’ll update your vision to match the real world!
I’m worried because I love these Berryz girls so much. They deserve much better treatment than this most recent one shows us.
Phew, you thought I can’t be critical and objective when I’m talking about Berryz Kobo? Well, to be exact, I wasn’t talking about BK, I was talking about the people behing the scenes. Period.

I was also Kinda dissapointed, I like the MV [everything but the Glittering glamming close ups] but it’s simply more of the same and UFA doesn’t seem to care… We’re going nowhere, Berryz deserve something better…
